ভর্তির ৮মাস পর বরিশাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ২০২৩-২৪ শিক্ষাবর্ষের নবাগত শিক্ষার্থীদের নবীন বরণ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
বৃহস্পতিবার (২৬ জুন) সকাল সাড়ে নয়টায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মুক্তমঞ্চে এ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।
বরিশাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ তৌফিক আলমের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পদার্থবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের ইমেরিটাস অধ্যাপক ড. এ কে এম আজহারুল ইসলাম।
প্রধান অতিথি তাঁর বক্তব্যে নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, শিক্ষা হচ্ছে সেই আলো যা উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যতের পথ আলোকিত করে, শিক্ষা হচ্ছে সেই হাতিয়ার যা একজন মানুষকে সচেতন সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে সাহায্য করে। এসময় তিনি আরো বলেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শুধু জ্ঞান অর্জনের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান নয়। এটি এমন একটি অধ্যায় যেখানে থাকবে জ্ঞানার্জন, গবেষণার মাধ্যমে নতুন জ্ঞান সৃষ্টি, বুদ্ধিবৃত্তিক আলোচনার মাধ্যমে সৃজনশীলতা বৃদ্ধি, দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি গঠনকরা ও ব্যক্তিগত বিকাশের সুযোগ।
বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কলা ও মানবিক অনুষদের ডিন ড. মোহাম্মদ তানভীর কায়ছারের সঞ্চালনায় অনুষ্ঠানে আরও বক্তব্য রাখেন জীববিজ্ঞান অনুষদের ডিন ড. হাফিজ আশরাফুল হক, বিজনেস স্টাডিজ অনুষদের ডিন মোঃ হারুন-অর-রশিদ, আইন অনুষদের ডিন সরদার কায়সার আহমেদ, বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদের ডিন ড. ধীমান কুমার রায় এবং সামাজিকবিজ্ঞান অনুষদের ডিন ড. ইসরাত জাহান।
শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে বক্তব্য রাখেন আইন বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী শাহরিনা হাবিব জান্নাতী, রসায়ন বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী ফারহান বাশার সিয়াম, ফিন্যান্স এন্ড ব্যাংকিং বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী ফাইজা আক্তার এবং কোস্টাল স্টাডিজ এন্ড ডিজাস্টার ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী নাঈম সরদার। অনুষ্ঠানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মচারীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
এছাড়াও নবাগত শিক্ষার্থীদের ওরিয়েন্টেশন উপলক্ষে বিকাল ৪ টায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মুক্তমঞ্চে এক মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানেরও আয়োজন করা হয়।
